Praising God with Words and Thoughts

“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Colossians 3:5-10

Think happy and pure thoughts today to Glorify the Lord. Praise Him with every thought, with every word, and with every action. Get rid of negativity or impure thoughts. Evil thoughts destroy your mind and push God out because of Satan’s lies. I know it is so easy to be consumed with the thoughts of this world– sex, greed, alcohol–and think there are no consequences for your thoughts. However, thinking those thoughts will lead to actions and disobedience from the Lord. Jesus wants you to be whole. It is not a punishment for Him to want your thoughts to be pure. Jesus disciplines us because He wants the absolute best life for us. It may be difficult now to focus your thoughts on the Lord, but if you make it a continual effort to Glorify Him with your whole being, I promise your outlook of life will be better in the long run. It is not fun at all to constantly be on guard about what is in your mind or what comes out of your mouth, but we have to remember that God created us so wonderfully so that we could bring praise to Him. He deserves our praise and so much more. Think about praising God with your thoughts, your words, and your actions today. Rid yourself of anger, bitterness, evil, and malice because it is only hurting you to hold on to those bad feelings. Let go and be free in the Lord today.

God bless. Image
